The soft amber light of the afternoon slowly danced across the ground, a fiery blaze as the sunset began it's dramatic descent beyond the horizon to usher in another period of night. A lone figure stood beside the shrine, standing before the great tree many considered to be magical in some way. His eyes, soft, burnt orange, like crisp leaves in the autumn.
They scanned the tree in a transfixed gaze as they showed nothing but a reflection of his own inner confusion. His expression was dull, if not nonexistent as he gazed at the tree as if it would offer him some answers that he desperately wanted.
If one surveyed the figure closer they would see that it was indeed a boy, probably about nineteen or so with burnt orange hair that matched his eyes. He wore a full blue suit with black shoes, accentuated drastically by an overly large, enormous, red bow-tie.
He stood in silence, his eyes showing everything he wanted to say but couldn't. Where was he? Why couldn't he remember everything? But the strongest question of all finally slipped out, subconsciously escaping his lips in an almost strangled breath as the sun neared the end of it's descent. "Why am I here?" His words almost echoed through the basically empty shrine as he continued to stare on, waiting for something to happen that he knew probably never would.

Hurrying up the steps, Fyora Taiyou, a girl of about 17 dressed in a charming black skirt and white blouse with a black neck tie. She wore black flats as she rushed past the strange boy with burnt orange hair to the shrine itself. Ringing the prayer bells she clapped her hands three times before beginning her prayer. Her long hair was in two loose braids that rested on her shoulders. 'Please, help me to find meaning in these strange dreams I've been plagued with lately. Also, help aniki find his own path instead of following our father's.' She then rang the prayer bells again before turning to the holy tree and smiling at the boy standing there. Her eyes were a soft amber hue and seemed to have a soft fire burning in them. "You know, if you want to make a wish, you take a piece of paper and you tie it to one of the branches." Fyora explained her voice soft and kind as she pulled out piece of white paper and tied it to one of the branches of the sakura tree that hung down close enough for her to reach. She then closed her eyes and wished for understanding of her dreams before she smiled at the boy.

Llednar snapped out of his trance as he saw the girl run by him to the shrine itself. He paid her no mind at first, simply listening to the bells as they rang, but shortly after she returned to where he was standing. What mostly astounded him however is that instead of passing him by like everyone else had since he'd been in this strange place she stopped, saying something about wishes and this tree before tying a piece of paper to one of it's branches.
Llednar stopped for a second, thinking about her words briefly before chuckling a bit in response. "I don't rightly know why miss, but I seem to recall hearing once that wishes can be dangerous things on occasion..." He said in a calm voice, his memory still extremely foggy. "May I ask you something though madame?" He said inquisitively as he walked over to her nonchalantly, draping his right arm over his chest and bowing slightly before getting back to a standing position.
"Could I be so bold as to ask your name?" He asked, his hand coming from his chest down to her hand, gripping it lightly. As he touched her hand however, his eyes snapped open, his pupils dilating unusually wide as something clicked in his head. "Adrammelech..." He whispered softly before his pupils returned to their normal size and he shook his head, wondering what he'd just said.
He ignored it for the time being however and bent down slightly, bringing her hand, which he'd now been holding for some ten seconds unconsciously, up to his face, giving it a soft kiss before releasing it and standing straight up again. "But of course I wouldn't be so rude as to do so without giving you mine." He continued as he waited for her reply. "I am Llednar. Llednar Twem."

Fyora blushed furiously and quickly took her hand back after it had been kissed and she had been bowed to. "But sometimes wishes are good, especially if it is one of pure intentions. My name's Fyora Taiyou... I really should get going. It's getting late and my parents will be wondering where I am. Bye!" She called before hurrying away.
That was when a tall girl of about 18 with long black and red hair. "Well, well, that was faster than I expected." She laughed with a smirk before turning to face the boy. "That girl, you called her something. Do you have any idea what? Besides, you will find out soon."

"I called her something...yes. But how would you know? Why would you even care?" Llednar asked the new girl after Fyora had run off. She looked odd, he wasn't sure why but he got a strange feeling about her and he couldn't tell whether it was a good or bad one. "And what did you mean I'll find out soon? Just who are you miss, and how do you know so much about me?" She wasn't an Ivalician, that much was certain, so how could she know him? Was she the one that brought him here? Or perhaps just a seer. Whatever the case, Llednar would have to wait for her answer to find out.
Before she could answer however, another girl stepped onto the scene. She was about nineteen herself, with long gray hair pulled back into a ponytail behind her head using an overly large red ribbon. She was wearing a black and white checkered top and black and white pants with light pink lipstick. Her yellow eyes flickered as she finished walking up the steps to the shrine, looking at the two people standing around. "Interesting conversation..." She said casually as she strolled over to Llednar and looked him over. "Hmph...pretty cute. What's all this about anyway hmm?" She asked in a sly tone of voice as she leaned her elbow on Llednar's shoulder and crossed her feet.

"I care because soon enough that girl will be someone under my care." Kitalia stated sharply. "Stay away from her, she doesn't need any influence from those that aren't linked to her destiny." She drew her sword. "I'd love to chat but I really don't have time. I really should be headed to the new club. My cousins requested I go to the opening for them. Maybe I'll find the person I've been looking for there." She laughed as she turned her back, her long black hair tied back into a pony tail with a single ribbon. There was a black cat embroidered onto the back of her jacket and was visible as she started down the stairs, tapping each statue as she passed with her sword.

"What do you mean not linked to her fate?" Llednar said with a stern resolve as he eyed this new woman curiously. He was almost oblivious to the girl leaning on his shoulder as he focused entirely on this strange girl speaking about fate. "And what know you of destiny? I happen to know that no destiny is set in stone!" He exclaimed before his eyes went wide again. He'd heard those words before, he got them from someone else, someone he knew, someone dear to him...it was coming back in a fog but he could see a short creature with a staff. "Babus...?" He said softly before his eyes returned to their normal size again.
The girl leaning on Llednar was thoroughly annoyed by his ignorance of her being there. She pouted slightly and slumped her head down to her hand, looking at him while he spoke to the other girl who she was equally pissed off at for not answering her question. When Llednar said Babus however, her eyes lit up and she looked at him curiously. While the other girl continued to walk away she got up from his shoulder and looked at him again, tugging at his cheek and mumbling to herself. "Babus? Babus Swain?" She asked in a surprised tone.
"Er...yes." He said, a bit shocked, turning to look at the grey haired girl and arching an eyebrow at her. "How did you know that name?" He inquired as she chuckled to herself before hugging him around his neck. "You're from Ivalice too aren't you cutie?" Her words made Llednar jump a bit, looking shocked at her question but nodding his head weakly. "Well then! Let's go see what this rude girl knows about you then, maybe it can aid me too..." She said before putting her arm out and stopping Llednar from rushing off. "Now now you little hunk, we do this my way so we don't get caught ok?" She said with a devious chuckle before grabbing his hand and stealthily heading off in the other girl's direction with him.
