Harlan was 'working' if you'd call sitting at the end of the bar looking over 'work orders' working. They were papers from Dominic of 'errands' that needed to be finished by the end of the week. He was drinking his usual, swirling the contents of it. He scanned the bustling club with his striking blue eyes, making sure things were in order. No problems tonight, at least not yet. One of the waitresses walked past him touching his back lightly, she gave him a soft smile as she went into the back. Dominic had a no tolerance policy, meaning that if anyone touched one of the girls or employees in any way that was inappropriate or hostile... Harlan could do what he pleased back to them. He looked back at his papers tapping the pen on the table, thinking.

That was when a stunning young girl that most knew only as "the relation of the Three Lights" walked in. She was rather tall, slim yet athletic, with long black and red hair tied back with a simple ribbon, much like how the Three Lights wore their hair. Her attire was a short black skirt with a simple silver tank top. She also wore a dark red bolero jacket which was slightly ragged that had a black cat embroidered onto the back. Her stockings were simple, black and red stripes, but what made it special was the boots she wore with them. They were very expensive, and designer, it was a distinctive brand that was marked by the small diamond skull on the ankle of each boot. She carried herself as if she were royalty and coldly dismissed anyone who she felt was unworthy of her attention.
Walking up to the bar, she noticed Harlan and felt almost as if she had seen him somewhere before. "Hey, you, get me a Caipifruta with passion fruit. If you can't manage that, then I'll take a regular caipirinha, if you still can't help me then I'll have a Caipiroska. Please tell me I'm not speaking in Latin here." The girl stated exasperatedly as she stared out at the many people that were chattering away. It was already dark outside and she had wanted to escape the paperwork that her brother had sent her to finish up. She originally came because she had been notified by the senshi that worked under her; the Starlights, otherwise known as the Three Lights, that there was a new club opening and that she should go in their place as they were busy on tour in America.

Harlan looked up at the girl raising an eyebrow. The girl behind the counter looked flustered and dropped the glass. She grabbed a new one and started again. Harlan sighed and walked behind the counter "It's alright Nami, I can take this one..." He said pulling up his sleeves, glancing at the girl returning her high and mighty attitude with his calm one. He didn't care how rich or how famous someone was... their attitudes were what aggravated him. His speed and precision at mixing 'The high and mighty' woman's drink would have most people dumbfounded. He dropped it on the counter in front of her with a small clank. His alluring blue eyes looked like rolling waves. "Will that be all?" He asked in a monotone voice.

"Well, well, this is a first!" Kitalia chuckled, her high and mighty attitude changing rapidly. "I always do that to test the bartenders of the newest places around town. This time, I was asked by the Three Lights to congratulate the owner in their absence." Taking a sip of her drink she smiled kindly at the girl who had been flustered. "I'm sorry for my bad habit. It's just that most people don't understand foreign drinks, especially not Brazilian drinks. You, sir, what's your name? You did a really good job on this, it's even better than if I was in Brazil!"

"The names Harlan, I happen to be the owner's assistant, head bartender, and head of security." He said still looking at her, his voice was like black velvet. Harlan was undeniably an intriguing and stunning being . He ran one of his hand through his somewhat shaggy black hair. She had a familiar scent, one that was going to drive him crazy. "As for doing a good job on that.... I've been around." He said the corner of his mouth twitching into a smirk for a split second. Tho his body language still seemed cruel, mysterious, and haunting. "Do you have a name? or am I to call you... 'Lady Caipifruta'?" He asked quirking an eyebrow.

"Kitalia Gem. That's my name, Harlan." Kitalia explained with a laugh before lowering her voice to a whisper. "As for 'Lady Caipifruta', call me that and I'll have to kick your ass. I'm a black belt in kendo and karate." She pulled out the ribbon easily shaking her head to loosen up her long hair that had been held in a pony tail by the ribbon. "You seem familiar, have we met before?" She asked suddenly hoping to catch him off guard. She knew she smelled much like fragrant olive flowers, it was from spending so much time on Kinmoku around those flowers. She missed her warm home, but she wasn't going to say anything about it, at least not yet.

"You think so?" He said with a laugh, Harlan had been a ruthless killer. One that had been feared by most of his kind and others that knew of him. He'd already managed to numb his emotions and in doing so lost pieces of himself. His eye twitched, the familiarity was overwhelming him. He was like a predator, ready to lash out at whenever he felt like. He had the urge to remove her from the prying eyes of the other males in this club. He moved slowly to the end of the counter, the way his body moved was like that of an animal. "We may have..... tho I've been so may places... I'm afraid I don't quite remember."

"Have you ever heard of a young princess trying to fight off an invading force but lost her little sister and control of her own self when the little sister took a fatal attack to protect the young princess?" Kitalia asked, she knew that this man to be so familiar was not someone she had met while on earth. If she had indeed met him before, it was when she had lost herself. She barely remembered anything from the time she had lost herself and attacked her own family. She murdered ruthlessly as Dark Spirit, not bothering to care about right or wrong. "It's a charming tale behind one of the songs the Three Lights sing. A fellow saves the princess in the end leaving her with just his name. The fellow's name was "Haku" if I remember the tale right. Though, I wouldn't know if it was real or not. They never tell me, those obnoxious cousins of mine."
Suddenly she smirked at Harlan. "But you don't look like the type of guy that listens to songs like that." Her voice was just barely above a whisper, and it was obvious she was trying to lure him into revealing if they had indeed ever met before. "Ah but maybe I'm just mistaken, maybe behind that tough exterior, you're nothing but a softie and a sucker for songs with a tragic tale and a rescued princess."

"Afraid I've never really heard any of their songs.... let alone knew they were a music group..." Harlan said twitching slightly at her crazy notion that he secretly listened to such music. He came within inches of her, placing an arm around her protectively. Right as a man tried to bump into her trying to cop a feel. Harlan growled at the man, whom looked away from his cold eyes. "You will leave now..." Harlan said in a demanding tone to the man whom reluctantly left. "I believe that we should not be talking in such a place..." Harlan said softly into her ear, his breath was warm. He was truly a predator, this club was his territory. He pulled away, when he had touched her it sent lightning through his body. He turned from her heading toward the VIP. "Why don't we go somewhere we can talk." He said looking back at her with those alluring blue eyes.

Kitalia's eyes flashed as he touched her, it felt so familiar it had sent chills through her."Yes, why don't we?" She replied following him to the VIP, her icy stare was directed at anyone who tried to approach her or Harlan as they headed there. It was as if she was directly challenging anyone and everyone to incur her wrath. She was sure he had felt the sting of familiarity between them, and it was about time to settle it and find out what the hell was going on. "You're awfully kind, but you see, I could have just kicked that guy's ass for trying to cop a feel. But being treated special is nice once and a while." She stated before they got into the VIP lounge and the door was closed behind them.

"Dominic does not generally allow people up here unless he is here. He believes that people need to be supervised." Harlan said with a chuckle, The owner was a unique man. Right now even at the grand opening, Dominic was hiding from the masses. "Also I wouldn't allow a woman to waste her time on someone so impudent." Harlan admitted taking a seat putting his feet up on the ledge. He looked at he tilting his head slightly saying "Doesn't matter he'll die soon anyway, I felt it"

"Yes, I felt it too. He has been poisoning his liver for quite a while, the fool doesn't have much longer to live before his spirit is released from his mortal shell. Perhaps in his next life he'll have a better time." Kitalia stated softly. She seemed very different as she spoke about the man. "His spirit is so weak, if he had tried harder he might have lived a longer life." She could sense these types of things, she hated it, but it was a curse that came with the blessings of her powers over spirits and spirit energy. "You're quite the character. Chivalrous, but yet your true self is simply hidden from everyone. Isn't that right?" She asked sharply removing her coat to reveal a strange tattoo that was a cross between the chinese character and the japanese kanji for "Spirit" on her right shoulder. "I hardly ever let anyone see this, but this has been there since I was around 15. Which was the last time I ever saw someone that rescued me from being a ruthless killer."
She sat down next to him with a smirk. "What do you have to say about that?"

"I'd say that it was a seal.... or something along the lines of that." Harlan stated, he wouldn't admit that he was the one who put that on her. Not that he wouldn't admit it, just that she had to ask a certain way in order to get an answer. "You women and dancing around subjects, you must find so much pleasure in not getting the answers you want." He said an a slightly amused tone. He was use to women acting as such, he had been with many women over his years. Tho he knew that since that day their fates were linked together. He tried to spare her from his dark disposition, his murderous ways. " Why is it you seek such a man?"

"I want to thank him. Because of him, my kingdom is safe, and happy. I also have been losing control lately, I nearly killed a random child for staring at me one day... That was why I decided to find the one that gave me this mark and ask if he would help me once again. I don't ever want to feel empty and cold as if I was dead and not alive again." Kitalia explained. "Since you seem to know so much, maybe you're the "Haku" that rescued me so many years ago? I'm also searching for those with the powers of the Zodiacs. The western zodiac, the twelve constellations."
Kitalia looked up at Harlan, her grey eyes serious and showing the fear of losing herself and just a twinge of the madness they had shown when they had last met.

"I might.... or might not be this 'haku'" Harlan said in a bored tone. She was still dancing around the subject, not asking outright. He found her rather amusing, he let his feet drop to the floor leaning forward. His blue eyes were so haunting as the looked at her. She wasn't being as straight forward as he'd hoped she would be. "Even if you found him, you wouldn't want to be thanking him...." He said his voice was just as haunting at his eyes, like cold, black velvet.

Suddenly Kitalia backhanded Harlan fiercely. "Are you, or are you not, "Haku", the man that saved me? You have the same haunting blue eyes, the same aura, the same tormented spirit. Now tell me why when I saw you I couldn't help feel as if I knew you?" She snapped. She had been keeping her cool and dancing about the subject, trying not to let her emotions run wild, but it was too late, the mark on her shoulder had already begun to fade slightly and she was losing control again of her own head. "Do you know...how much...my head hurts right now?!" She asked him shakily, trying hard not to reach to her boots where the knife she kept for protection was.

In an instant his eyes turned to molten mercury, he pushed her backward punning her body, arms on either side of her head, to the wall. His face mere inches from her, she had stuck him..... the thing was it didn't anger him. It aroused feelings that he thought had long since died. "CheriƩ I would suggest you don't provoke me, I cannot guarantee that I will treat you gently.... or respect your space." He said restraining himself from taking her mouth. He looked into her eyes with his resembling molten Mercury.

She smirked, and after freeing an arm, lifted one finger and traced his lips with it, the mark on her shoulder having faded even more. "Well then, maybe you should answer my question. Or maybe I should just disrespect your space. I'm not as frail as I was back then, I'm not a little girl anymore. I guess you've already noticed that." Kitalia whispered in his ear as she leaned closer, "Have you forgotten me already? Or are you intimidated by the fact I'm royalty? Just remember, I'm still deadly with any type of blade that can be enchanted."

Harlan had no choice in the matter now. He brought his head to her shoulder, kissing it lightly. "Ha you think labels bother me? CheriƩ, you have no idea what I am able to do to you." He said a smug amusement in his voice. He then bit her shoulder, over the mark drawing blood. He also had bitten his own tongue, mixing the blood. He removed his head blowing on it. A new symbol was forming, something a lot more powerful.

At that moment Kitalia's personality snapped back and she blushed furiously as her heavy eyelids fell and she was rendered unconscious. She was barely able to whisper her apology as her body became as limp as a rag doll and she slumped forward, resting against Harlan. She was a natural beauty, but it was scary how she could be so murderous and bold one second and calm and slightly shy the next. It wasn't something she could control herself, the new mark that now formed on her right shoulder where the old mark had been before was the reason she was no longer a threat to anyone.
As her breathing slowed and became shallow it was obvious she was sleeping peacefully, but for how long was anyone's guess. If anyone were to enter the lounge at that moment, would probably think either something happened between the two, or she had simply passed out and Harlan was just protecting her. As she slept, Kitalia's memory of the last time she and Harlan had met invaded her dreams, causing her to watch every last moment, when they fought, and she had allowed him to catch her, and when she had finally been rescued from her madness, and the mark placed upon her shoulder.
